A cold glass of water.

I'm here to give the 411 on moisturizing your acne. Yes that's right your number one defense against acne is moisture! Your skin needs a good balance of oil and water to keep up it's protective barrier. If you have oily/acneic skin you probably use products like Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid that dry up oils left on the skin. Well take a look at this, well balanced skin needs oil & water. When you starve your skin of water your skin protects itself by creating more oil. Yep you just caused your own skin to create MORE oil. Out of desperation to dry up those oils you throw on a clearing spot treatment and dry out your skin some more. So your skin defends itself once again by doing the only thing it can do, make more oil!!!! Your skin is like a little overzealous factory pumping as much oil as it can muster to hydrate and protect it. What can you do? Give your skin that drink of water its begging for! A good lightweight or oil free moisturizer is what it needs. As soon as your skin thirst is quenched it will put its oil factory on hold. Also a good moisturizing mask will do the trick. Find your moisture "balance" and your skin will thank you for it.

Waxing vs. Shaving

How often do you shave? Everyday? 3 times a week? Well not anymore, waxing is your new best friend. Imagine a world where there's no regrowth for 2-3 weeks!! Yes that is right, 2-3 weeks!! When you shave you take the hair off at the base where it is the thickest. So when it grows back it's even thicker than before!Waxing removes the hair from the root. Over time waxing thins the hair so less grows back. Waxing helps to exfoliate your skin as well, leaving it silky smooth. So when should you start to wax.... NOW is the time to start! Fall and winter usually have us wearing pants and shirts with sleeves, so no worries that anyone will notice as you are getting your hair on a waxing schedule!! Have gorgeous, hair-less skin!
